Plan for Success – Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 1 January 2026
Daytime Learning Programme: Supplementary TermsThese Terms and Conditions apply to all students who commence tutoring with Plan for Success on or after 1 January 2026.
Students who began tutoring prior to this date remain subject to the Terms and Conditions agreed at the time of enrolment unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Key Highlights
These highlights are here to give you a clear overview of how tutoring with Plan for Success works. The full Terms and Conditions below provide more detail and help ensure things run smoothly for everyone involved.
Fees and Payment
Payments are made via Stripe (Direct Debit, Card, Google Pay).
Payments are collected in 11 equal monthly instalments on the 1st of each month from September to July.
No tutoring sessions or subscription payments take place in August.
The fee-payer (parent, carer, or adult student) is responsible for keeping payment details up to date via the Stripe Customer Portal.
We rely on timely payments to schedule tutors, manage availability, and ensure tutors are paid promptly. For this reason, late payments incur a £75 non-waivable admin charge and unpaid slots may be reallocated.
GCSE and A level subscriptions run from September until the completion of exams, which normally occurs in May or June depending on the exam timetable. No July payment is required where no sessions are delivered.
Cancellations and Rearrangements
One week's notice is required for cancellations or rearrangements.
Notice must be given as soon as the student or fee-payer is aware of a clash (e.g. school events, parents' evenings, hospital appointments, or other prior commitments).
Only one rearrangement per academic year is permitted. Any rescheduled session cannot be rearranged again.
No rearrangements or cancellations are permitted for holidays.
Attendance
Students and tutors must join sessions promptly.
If non‑attendance occurs, time‑stamped evidence must be provided within 24 hours of the scheduled start time to admin@planforsuccesstutoring.com.
Holidays
Our pricing is structured around term time only, which is why holidays are already built into the model rather than handled as individual cancellations.
Fee payers must also provide school term dates by 15th August.
No sessions will be rearranged or refunded for holidays.
Behaviour and Safeguarding
We aim to create a calm, respectful learning environment where students feel supported and tutors can focus fully on each session.
Disrespectful or disruptive behaviour may result in termination, with no refunds for unused sessions.
We expect students and parents or carers, during all interactions, to behave respectfully and professionally.
We understand that learning can sometimes feel challenging or frustrating. However, consistently disruptive, abusive or inappropriate behaviour towards tutors or staff is not acceptable. Where such behaviour occurs, we reserve the right to terminate sessions or services with immediate effect and without refund.
Safeguarding concerns may be escalated to the relevant services in line with obligations.

Full Terms and Conditions
Fees Payable to Plan for Success
Fees are charged in line with the published pricing structure in place at the time of enrolment..
Payment is collected through Stripe, via Direct Debit, Card, or Google Pay.
Fees are charged in 11 equal monthly instalments, payable on the 1st of each month to secure the slot for the month ahead.
Subscription structure and fee consistency
Tutoring fees are charged on a subscription basis and are spread evenly across the academic period to support consistent scheduling and budgeting.
Because subscription payments are averaged, the monthly fee remains the same regardless of the number of sessions that fall within a particular month. Some months may include fewer sessions due to holidays, while others may include more.
Fees are not calculated, reconciled, or adjusted on a per-session or per-month basis. The subscription secures a regular weekly slot and ongoing academic support rather than a set number of sessions each month.
For students starting mid‑month, the first month's payment will be calculated pro‑rata and must be paid by card before the first session. Full monthly payments will begin from the next billing cycle.
Any additional sessions outside of the agreed weekly schedule (e.g. catch‑up sessions or GCSE boosters) must be paid for in advance by card to secure the slot.
GCSE and AS/A Level Students (Year 11,12 and 13):
Fees are charged from September until the completion of exams, which normally occurs in May or June depending on the exam timetable.
The standard 8‑week notice period applies if a student stops before June.
Parents may request that scheduled June sessions are delivered earlier in May. If this option is chosen, payment for both May and June sessions will be required in May.
Any additional sessions delivered in May will be subject to tutor availability and cannot be guaranteed. In some cases, these may need to be delivered by a different tutor.
Any further sessions required after June must be paid for separately in advance.
School term dates may differ for each student; schedules will be confirmed before tuition begins.
The fee-payer (parent, carer, or adult student) is responsible for keeping payment details up to date via the Stripe Customer Portal.
The fee-payer is also responsible for cancelling their Direct Debit mandate once the two‑month notice period has been served and the final payment taken. Plan for Success will not be liable for any further payments collected if the mandate is not cancelled by the payer.
If a Stripe payment attempt fails, a £75 late payment admin charge will become payable in addition to the outstanding tutoring fees. Both the late payment charge and the overdue amount must be settled in full before sessions can continue. This charge is non‑waivable under normal circumstances. Plan for Success reserves the right to exercise discretion only in exceptional cases, as outlined elsewhere in these Terms. The late payment fee reflects the additional administrative time involved in chasing payments and helps us maintain timely payment processes so tutors can be paid promptly.
Plan for Success cannot guarantee the availability of a student's regular time slot if payment is late, as unpaid slots may be reallocated to other students on the waiting list.
Prices are non‑negotiable and reflect the quality of service and resources provided.
By agreeing to these terms, clients acknowledge that Plan for Success is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by the loss of a regular slot due to late or failed payment.
Fee Review and Exceptional Circumstances
Fees are reviewed periodically. Any revised pricing will be announced in advance and will normally apply to new agreements from the stated effective date.
Existing students will not usually be moved onto revised pricing during an academic year. Where applicable, revised pricing for existing students will normally take effect from the start of a new academic year in September, following appropriate notice.
In exceptional circumstances only, Plan for Success reserves the right to amend fees during an academic year. Exceptional circumstances may include, but are not limited to, significant changes in operating costs, regulatory requirements, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Where this applies, affected families will be given as much notice as reasonably possible, and the reasons for the change will be clearly communicated. A minimum of 12 weeks' notice will be given to the fee-payer before any changes come into effect.
Additional Services
Additional services are optional and charged separately from ongoing tutoring subscriptions. These may include, but are not limited to, initial sessions, ad hoc sessions, marking and feedback, exam paper marking, diagnostic assessments, written reports, consultation calls, and bespoke or case-by-case support.
All additional services must be paid for in full in advance. Availability is not guaranteed until payment has been received.
Additional services are provided as one-off services and do not create an ongoing tutoring entitlement, guarantee future availability, or reserve a regular tutoring slot.
Additional services involve dedicated preparation and professional time that cannot be reused or reallocated once booked. Once payment has been made, no refunds are available for additional services under any circumstances, including but not limited to changes of mind, non-use, dissatisfaction, scheduling issues, or changes in personal circumstances.
This reflects the allocation of professional time, preparation, and expertise required to deliver these services, which cannot be reallocated once booked.
Plan for Success reserves the right to exercise discretion in exceptional circumstances only. Any such decision is made on a case-by-case basis, is entirely at the discretion of Plan for Success, and does not create a precedent or entitlement for future requests.
Payments, Holidays, and Refunds
Payment is required throughout the agreed academic period to retain the student's preferred slot.
Parents must provide their child's school term dates by 15th August each year so they can be recorded. If dates are not provided, a standard UK school calendar will be assumed and this will not be changed.
No rearrangements or cancellations will be permitted for holidays.
If a student does not attend during their scheduled time, the session will still be charged in full.
If a tutor becomes unavailable long‑term, Plan for Success will endeavour to provide a suitable replacement. If no replacement can be arranged, refunds for unused sessions will be issued up to one calendar month.
Attendance, Cancellation, and Rearrangement Policy
By the Student
Sessions are scheduled at fixed times agreed upon at the start of tuition.
Punctuality is your responsibility. Sessions begin at the scheduled time and cannot be extended to accommodate late arrival.
We understand that life can be busy and plans sometimes change. In fairness to our tutors, who may be working across different time zones and staying up late to deliver sessions, fixed notice periods apply.
A minimum of one week's notice is required for cancellations or rearrangements. Notice must be given as soon as the parent or student becomes aware of the clash (e.g. parents' evenings, school events, or extracurricular activities arranged in advance).
Only one rearrangement per academic year is permitted. Any rescheduled session cannot be rearranged again.
Tutoring is delivered as a fixed weekly commitment, not a flexible booking system.
If insufficient notice is provided, or if the student fails to attend the rescheduled session, the session will be forfeited, with no refund or further rescheduling.
In cases of genuine emergency (e.g. sudden illness or unforeseen family circumstances), the student or parent must notify Plan for Success as soon as possible. Discretion may be applied to reschedule the session, but any rescheduled session must be taken within 28 days of the original session date.
For minor illness, sessions may proceed in a relaxed format, focusing on lighter tasks. This option is available for occasional use only. Plan for Success will determine if a relaxed session is appropriate.
By the Tutor
Tutors will provide as much notice as possible for cancellations. Missed sessions will be rescheduled within one calendar month or credited against the following month's sessions.
For Both Parties
Students are expected to attend sessions promptly. If the student has not joined within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, and no prior communication has been received, the tutor will leave the session. No reminders or follow-ups will be sent. The session will be charged in full and will not be rescheduled.
Tutors are expected to attend sessions promptly. If the tutor has not joined within 10 minutes, and no prior communication has been received, the student may leave. In such cases, a free credit will be added to the following month's sessions. The credit must be used within 28 days or it will be forfeited.
Tutors will not send reminders before sessions or if a student is late. Sessions are treated as fixed appointments and must be attended on time.
For students aged under 18: It is the responsibility of the parent, carer, or fee-payer to ensure the student attends at the agreed time.
For adult students (18 or over): The student is responsible for attending their sessions promptly and without prompts.
Non‑Attendance Documentation
If a student or tutor does not attend within 10 minutes, the attending party must document this by:
Taking a time‑stamped photo showing the waiting time, date, and the meeting platform's web address line (URL), or
Providing a screenshot with a visible timestamp and meeting URL as evidence.
Attendance photos or screenshots must be emailed to admin@planforsuccesstutoring.com within 24 hours of the scheduled start time of the non‑attendance.
Failure to provide evidence within this timeframe will result in the session being charged in full.
Change in Lesson Frequency
A minimum of 6 weeks' notice by email to admin@planforsuccesstutoring.com is required for any reduction in the number of weekly sessions. This applies whether reducing one or multiple sessions.
Any reduction will be treated as permanent. Increases in sessions will be treated as a new agreement, subject to tutor availability and current pricing at the time of the request.
If sessions are reduced, the student's original slot(s) may be reallocated. Returning to the previous number of sessions or reclaiming former slots cannot be guaranteed.
Termination of Contract
A minimum of 8 weeks' notice by email to admin@planforsuccesstutoring.com is required to terminate tuition. Notice will not be accepted verbally or via tutor messaging platforms.
Plan for Success does not provide a pause option. Any break in tuition is treated as termination, and the full 8‑week notice period will apply.
All outstanding payments must be settled in full before tuition ends. Cancellation of a Direct Debit mandate before all fees are paid will be treated as non‑payment.
The fee-payer is solely responsible for cancelling their Direct Debit mandate with their bank or via Stripe once the final payment has been taken. Plan for Success cannot cancel payment mandates on behalf of any student or family.
Plan for Success will not be held liable for any additional payments collected if the mandate is not cancelled by the payer, and no refunds will be provided in such cases.
Once tuition ends, the student's slot will be reallocated and may not be available if they wish to return. Re‑enrolment is subject to tutor availability and may involve updated pricing or Terms and Conditions.
Balance Adjustments at Termination
Because subscription payments are spread evenly to make budgeting easier, the number of sessions delivered may not always align exactly with the amount paid at the point tuition ends.
In these circumstances, a final calculation will be made to determine whether:
an additional payment is required to cover sessions already delivered, or
a refund is due where more has been paid than used.
Any outstanding balance must be settled in full before tuition ends. Where a refund is due, this will be issued within 14 working days of the final session.
Technology, Equipment, and Technical Issues
Device Requirements
Sessions are designed to be delivered on a laptop or desktop computer with both a camera and microphone enabled.
On the rare occasion that a laptop or computer is not available, Plan for Success will endeavour to continue the session using an alternative device (e.g. a mobile phone). However, we cannot guarantee the quality, functionality, or effectiveness of the session on such devices.
It is the responsibility of the student or fee-payer to ensure access to a suitable device and a stable internet connection for all scheduled sessions.
The use of headphones with an attached microphone is strongly recommended to improve sound quality and minimise background noise.
Camera Use
For safeguarding purposes, camera use must be consistent:
If the student has their camera switched on, the tutor will also keep their camera on.
If the student chooses to have their camera off, the tutor will also switch their camera off.
Families are encouraged to keep cameras on during sessions where possible to support engagement and effective learning.
If internet issues occur during a session, switching the camera off may help stabilise the connection and allow the session to continue with audio only.
Optimising Device Performance
To maximise performance during sessions, families are encouraged to:
Ensure devices are fully charged or plugged in before the session begins.
Close any unnecessary tabs, windows, or applications to reduce strain on the computer.
Position the device in a quiet environment to minimise background noise and distractions.
Technical Issues
Student side: If technical issues occur and cannot be resolved within 10 minutes, the session will end. Homework will be provided for the remaining time. Homework is optional but must be submitted via Google Classroom the same day if review is required before the next session.
Tutor side: If technical issues occur, any remaining time will either:
Be added to a future session, or
Be covered in a shorter session at a mutually agreed time.
Conduct and Expectations
Students, parents, and tutors are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
You are responsible for ensuring that the student is ready for each session and has the necessary materials available, such as paper, pens or pencils, calculators, textbooks, or any subject-specific resources.
Tutors are not responsible for sourcing materials during sessions. Time spent resolving preventable issues relating to missing equipment forms part of the scheduled session time.
Plan for Success reserves the right to suspend or terminate sessions immediately if disrespectful, abusive, or disruptive behaviour occurs from the student, parent, or anyone present during a session.
Refunds will not be provided for unused sessions in such cases.
Consistently late payments or irregular attendance may also result in termination of tuition.
Plan for Success reserves the right to refuse re‑enrolment following termination if behaviour, safeguarding, or payment concerns remain unresolved. Such decisions are final and non-negotiable.
Safeguarding
Plan for Success is committed to providing a safe and supportive online learning environment for all students.
Tutors are required to maintain professional standards at all times and to report any safeguarding concerns that arise during tuition.
We work with experienced tutors who hold enhanced DBS checks and uphold our safeguarding policies. All tutors adhere to a professional code of conduct and attend regular safeguarding training.
Sessions are delivered professionally and appropriately at all times. We take safeguarding seriously and expect all interactions to reflect mutual respect and appropriate boundaries.
Safeguarding concerns may include (but are not limited to): inappropriate behaviour, abusive language, disclosure of harm, or any actions that put a student's wellbeing at risk.
Where necessary, concerns may be escalated to the appropriate services depending on the student's country of residence. This may include local safeguarding agencies, child protection services, or relevant authorities.
By agreeing to these Terms, parents or adult students acknowledge that safeguarding obligations may override confidentiality if a child or vulnerable person is considered at risk of harm.
Progress and Accountability
Our role is to guide, support, and adapt sessions to each student's needs, while recognising that progress also depends on what happens between sessions.
Tutors will make every effort to support each student's learning, progress, and confidence through tailored sessions.
Where we set independent work because we believe it will support progress, students are expected to attempt it in order to receive feedback. To allow tutors time to review work and prepare feedback, homework must usually be submitted at least 48 hours before the next scheduled session. Feedback on completed work will normally be provided during the following session. Marking or feedback requested outside of the session time is treated as an additional service and is chargeable. We encourage students to engage with any independent work set, but we cannot force completion. Progress depends on the student's engagement as well as tutor support.
While tutors can guide and encourage, academic progress is dependent on multiple factors outside of Plan for Success' control, including the student's attendance, engagement, independent study, wellbeing, and their willingness to access the full range of support available to them.
Parents and students are responsible for ensuring that work assigned between sessions is completed and submitted on time in order for tutors to provide feedback and adapt future learning.
Plan for Success cannot guarantee specific outcomes, grades, or results under any circumstances.
Ongoing tutoring subscriptions include brief, informal feedback provided to the student during sessions and or shared via Google Classroom.
One end-of-year review call (up to 30 minutes) is included per academic year to reflect on progress and next steps.
Written reports, additional parent meetings, extended consultations, or detailed feedback outside this scope are not included and are available as additional services, charged separately.
Mock exams and additional assessments provided by Plan for Success are intended as a guide to identify strengths and areas for improvement. They are not a prediction of final results or guaranteed outcomes.
Communication Policy
Clear communication helps sessions run smoothly and protects both students and tutors. To avoid confusion, we use specific platforms for specific purposes, outlined below.
Session Content & Learning Communication: All communication relating to session content, learning activities, academic questions, tasks, or homework must take place within Google Classroom. This ensures continuity of learning, accurate records, and safeguarding. Students are encouraged to use Google Classroom independently where appropriate.
Session Preparation: If there is anything specific you would like us to focus on during a session, this must be communicated via Google Classroom at least 48 hours in advance. This allows tutors adequate time to plan and prepare effectively. Requests made with less notice may not be accommodated within the scheduled session.
Technical Issues During Sessions: Google Chat may be used solely for technical or immediate access issues during a scheduled session, such as difficulties joining a session or resolving short-term technical problems. Google Chat must not be used for learning queries, progress discussions, feedback requests, or ongoing conversation.
Administrative Enquiries: Queries relating to scheduling, billing, payments, policies, invoicing, forms, or changes to services must be sent directly to admin@planforsuccesstutoring.com or addressed via phone where appropriate. Tutors are not responsible for receiving, relaying, or responding to administrative messages.
Administrative Availability: The admin function operates on a freelance basis and may not be immediately available for live calls. Email is the preferred method of contact to ensure accurate records and timely follow-up. Where a phone call is required, availability is subject to prior arrangement and cannot be guaranteed.
Use of Platforms and Safeguarding: All ongoing communication must take place through approved platforms only. Communication sent via personal email addresses, WhatsApp, text message, or social media platforms is not monitored and will not be responded to. This is to maintain professional boundaries and meet safeguarding obligations. Plan for Success cannot be held responsible for messages sent outside approved platforms.
Google Meet Access: Sessions are accessed directly through Google Classroom. Students will not receive separate Google Meet invitations. The Meet link is always available via their Google Classroom.
Response Times and Time Zones: Tutors are freelancers and do not work fixed hours. Messages may be sent at any time, but responses will be given as soon as the tutor is able. As Plan for Success operates internationally, time zone differences may affect response times.
All ongoing communication must take place through approved channels (Google Classroom, WhatsApp, or Google Chat). Where initial contact was made through a social media platform for marketing purposes, parents and students must transfer communication to the approved channels. Tutors will not respond to academic or administrative queries sent through personal social media accounts. This is both to maintain professional boundaries and to meet safeguarding obligations. Plan for Success cannot be held responsible for any messages sent outside of the approved platforms.
Emergency Communication Only: In the event of an absolute emergency, such as sudden illness, last-minute cancellation, or unexpected lateness, notification may be made via Google Chat or WhatsApp. WhatsApp emergency messages are received by the admin team, not sent directly to tutors. This allows urgent information to be filtered and passed on where necessary. Emergency channels are provided for notification only and must not be used for learning-related communication, administrative matters, or general messaging.
Administrative matters, including payments, scheduling, policy queries, invoicing, forms, or changes to services, must be directed to the admin team via email or by phone where appropriate.
The admin function operates on a freelance basis and may not be immediately available for live calls. Email is the preferred method of contact for administrative matters to ensure accurate records and timely follow-up.
Where a phone call is required, availability is subject to prior arrangement and cannot be guaranteed.
Exceptional Circumstances
Plan for Success reserves the right to override policies at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.
Any decisions to override policies are rare, made solely by Plan for Success, and are not guaranteed.
Such decisions will be communicated promptly and are final. Families may not appeal or expect the same decision to apply in future cases.
Acknowledgement of Terms
By completing the acknowledgement form provided by Plan for Success, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Where no acknowledgement form is issued, agreement to these Terms and Conditions is confirmed by booking or paying for any service.
Ticking the confirmation box and/or typing your name within the form constitutes your legally recognised electronic signature and is binding in the same way as a handwritten signature.
We review our Terms and Conditions periodically and may update them to reflect changes in how our services operate. Where material changes are made, we will notify clients in advance The most current version of the Terms and Conditions will always apply from the stated effective date and will be viewable on our website.
Google Forms automatically records the date, time, and email of submission, which will be used as proof of agreement. The acknowledgement form must be completed by the parent, carer, or fee‑payer responsible for payment.
By completing the acknowledgement form, the fee-payer confirms responsibility for ensuring that sessions are attended as scheduled. For students under 18, it is the parent or carer's responsibility to ensure their child attends on time. For students aged 18 or over, the student is responsible for managing and attending their own sessions. Tutors do not send reminders before lessons or follow-up messages if a session is missed, so it's important that students and families keep track of agreed session times.
Tuition cannot continue without this acknowledgement being completed.
