Home Education Programmes
Your approach to home education. The subjects you choose. Personalised support along the way.
Home education gives families the freedom to shape learning around their child’s strengths, interests and aspirations. But that doesn’t mean you need to provide every aspect of their education yourself.
Whether you’re building foundations in core subjects, exploring new interests or preparing for GCSEs and IGCSEs, having experienced tutors alongside you can make a real difference.
Our Home Education Programmes offer a structured and flexible way to access personalised, one-to-one online tutoring across two, three or four subjects of your choice.
With agreed daytime appointments, independent learning resources and a clear programme of support, you can bring additional subject expertise into your home education journey without committing to separate ongoing tutoring subscriptions for every subject.

Flexible pathways
Home education doesn’t have to follow one particular pathway
Some families follow the National Curriculum closely. Others prefer an interest-led approach, combine different educational philosophies or work towards qualifications at their own pace.
We recognise that learners don’t always progress at the same level across every subject. A learner might be developing primary-level English skills, working confidently through lower secondary Maths and beginning GCSE-level Science.
Our programmes are designed to accommodate these differences. We work alongside families to identify suitable subjects, agree educational priorities and organise individual tutoring sessions around the learner’s current understanding and goals.
Our role is to complement your home education provision, not recreate school online.
Two, three or four subjects
Choose two, three or four subjects
Every programme provides individual 50-minute online tutoring sessions, with subjects and session allocations agreed before enrolment.
Two-Subject Programme
Focused support where it matters most.
Ideal for families wanting consistent professional guidance in two priority subjects. This might mean developing confidence in English and Maths, strengthening Welsh language skills or exploring two subjects that particularly interest your learner. Choose your subjects, agree how many sessions are appropriate and access relevant independent learning resources between appointments.
Three-Subject Programme
Broader educational support with room to explore.
A suitable option for families looking to develop learning across three subjects or combine foundational knowledge with more specialised interests. For example, a learner might choose English, Maths and Science, or combine English, History and Psychology where appropriate to their working level. The number of sessions allocated to each subject can reflect your learner’s individual priorities.
Four-Subject Programme
A wider range of personalised subject support.
For families seeking professional input across four areas of learning. This option can be particularly useful when building a broader academic programme or preparing for several future qualifications. We work with you to agree a realistic allocation of teaching time across the chosen subjects.

Every session is one-to-one. We do not use group teaching within these programmes.
All subject choices are subject to tutor availability and educational suitability.
A clear programme of support
How the Home Education Programme works
Tell us about your learner
We begin by understanding your family’s approach to education, your learner’s interests and current working levels, and the subjects you’d like support with. We’ll discuss what you hope the programme will achieve and whether this approach is appropriate for your circumstances.
Choose your subjects and sessions
Select two, three or four subjects from our available provision. Together, we’ll agree how many individual sessions are appropriate for each subject. There is no requirement for every subject to receive exactly the same number of sessions. Different subjects may also be studied at different working levels.
Agree your teaching timetable
Sessions take place during our designated weekday daytime hours. Appointments are arranged in advance, giving your family and tutors a clear schedule. Programmes are normally planned around a 12-week teaching period, although sessions can be completed over a shorter timeframe where sufficient appointments are available. We take account of your relevant school holiday calendar and our own teaching dates when agreeing the schedule.
Access learning resources between sessions
Your learner receives access to relevant resources through Google Classroom. These provide opportunities to consolidate understanding, practise skills and explore topics independently between appointments.
Continue building confidence and understanding
Learners can bring questions from their independent activities into subsequent sessions. Tutors adapt explanations, activities and support as the learner develops, helping them become increasingly confident and independent.

Independent learning
Learning continues between tutoring sessions
We know that learning doesn’t stop when an online tutoring session ends. That’s why our programmes include access to selected independent learning activities and educational resources through Google Classroom.
Depending on the subject and working level, these may include:
- Topic-based practice activities and exercises.
- Reading, writing and comprehension tasks.
- Research and exploration activities.
- Revision and consolidation resources.
- Opportunities for further challenge.
- Answer sheets, model responses and self-assessment guidance.
Resources are selected to support the learner’s agreed educational priorities. Independent work is checked by the learner or family using the materials provided.
Routine marking outside scheduled tutoring sessions is not included. Questions and areas requiring further explanation can be discussed during subsequent sessions.
This approach helps learners develop responsibility for their learning while giving families access to professional teaching and guidance.
Programmes or standard tutoring?
What’s the difference between our Home Education Programmes and standard tutoring?
Both services provide the same commitment to personalised one-to-one teaching, strong tutor relationships and confidence building. The difference is how the educational support is organised.
| Standard One-to-One Tutoring | Home Education Programmes |
|---|---|
| Ongoing weekly subject subscriptions | Prepaid allocation of tutoring sessions |
| Regular weekly appointments for each subscribed subject | Agreed distribution across two, three or four subjects |
| Monthly subscription payments | Full programme payment in advance |
| Teaching responds to developing individual academic needs | Teaching organised around agreed programme priorities |
| Standard tutoring scheduling arrangements | Designated weekday daytime appointments |
| Relevant resources through Google Classroom | Relevant resources and family-managed independent practice through Google Classroom |
Our Home Education Programmes are particularly suited to families who want to plan a defined period of educational support while managing their wider learning arrangements independently.
Our standard tutoring subscriptions may be more appropriate where a learner needs an ongoing weekly appointment in an individual subject or support that responds continually to changing academic demands.
Neither approach provides a lower standard of teaching. We will always recommend the option that best suits the learner.
Programme investment
How much does a Home Education Programme cost?
Every learner’s educational pathway is different, so programme prices are calculated individually. This means you won’t automatically pay GCSE-level prices for a subject being studied at primary level.
All programmes are paid in full before teaching begins. You will receive a written quotation and proposed teaching schedule before making a commitment.
Your quotation will reflect:
- Whether you choose two, three or four subjects.
- The number of 50-minute sessions allocated to each subject.
- The working level required for each subject.
- The agreed programme schedule.
Scheduling
Teaching terms, holidays and scheduling
We recognise that home educating families often follow different routines and educational calendars. Before enrolment, we’ll ask about your relevant local authority or school holiday dates, together with any planned periods of unavailability.
Where agreed in advance, programmes may continue across normal term boundaries. For new enrolments approaching the summer closure, all purchased sessions must be capable of completion before the summer break. Otherwise, we can discuss a September start, subject to availability.
Our usual attendance and rearrangement arrangements apply.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Can we choose any combination of subjects?
You can select two, three or four subjects from our available tutoring provision, subject to tutor availability and suitability.
Does my learner need to be working at the same level in every subject?
No. Subjects can be studied at different working levels, and your quotation will reflect this.
Are the sessions individual or group-based?
All sessions are individual, 50-minute online tutoring appointments.
Do we have to follow the National Curriculum?
Not necessarily. We work with families following different educational pathways and agree support around their goals. Where learners are preparing for formal qualifications, appropriate specifications and requirements will need to be considered.
Do we have to spread the sessions across 12 weeks?
No. The schedule can be condensed where sufficient daytime appointments are available and agreed in advance.
Who marks the independent work?
Learners and families use the answer sheets, model responses or assessment guidance provided. Routine tutor marking outside sessions is not included.
Can we change subjects after enrolling?
Changes may be considered, but depend on tutor availability, educational suitability, scheduling and any applicable price difference. They must be agreed in advance.
What if we only want support in one subject?
Our standard one-to-one tutoring subscriptions may be a better fit for families seeking support in one subject.
Does this programme replace home education provision?
No. The programme provides personalised subject support alongside your wider home education arrangements. It is not a complete curriculum or full-time schooling service.
Explore whether a Home Education Programme is right for your family
Every learner has different strengths, interests and educational priorities. If you’re considering additional subject support, we’d be happy to discuss your family’s approach to home education and help you explore whether a two-, three- or four-subject programme would be suitable.
We’ll explain the available options and provide a personalised quotation before you make any commitment.
